The Minnesota Vikings have acquired running back Jordan Mason from the San Francisco 49ers, in exchange for a 2025 pick swap (Minnesota receives No. 187; San Francisco receives No. 160) and a 2026 sixth-round pick.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that as part of the deal, Mason has agreed to a two-year Vikings contract with a maximum value of $12MM and includes $7MM guaranteed at signing.

Mason, 25, emerged last season as the Niners’ lead back after starter Christian McCaffrey was ruled out due to an Achilles injury to open 2024. Mason racked up a career-high 789 yards on 153 attempts with three touchdowns in six starts, finishing the season on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain that caused him to miss the final five games.
